December 26, 2007 (Wednesday): 7TH ANNUAL MCMF HOLIDAY BLUES SHOWCASE in Royal Oak.
Location: Memphis Smoke at 100 South Main St, Royal Oak, MI 48067 (a few miles north of Detroit). phone 248-543-4300. Though there is no formal cover charge, a donation will be requested from those attending the Holiday Blues Showcase, with a $5 suggested minimum. Motor City Blues Challenge winner Pete "Big Dog" Fetters, Motor City Josh with Stacia Petrie, the Matt Besey Band and Bugs Beddow with the Skye Island Band are scheduled to perform. The showcase is held to spotlight local artists both well-known and up-and-coming. Proceeds from the event go to MCMF, a non-profit foundation that presents the annual Detroit Music Awards as well as other showcases and educational events in the metro Detroit area.
