William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition – Finals (Winds & Brass) March 2, 2013 in Flint.
"Young artists from throughout the world compete for a grand prize of $6,000 plus an opportunity to perform with the Flint Symphony Orchestra. Held annually on the first Saturday of March, competition is sponsored by the St. Cecilia Society in collaboration with the Flint Institute of Music and the Flint Symphony Orchestra." Competition rotates annually between four disciplines.
Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands (national) – Annual competition. Both Submission Deadline and Fan Voting for Michigan residents usually takes place in August. Must be your own original photo, song and/or video. Each band submission will be available for fan voting.
