On January 31, 2004, Madman Mike just happened to be in the right place at the right time. On stage was Sherman Arnold introducing his band - The Interstate Band - when Mike heard the name Jack Rainwater!
Sure enough, this famous Michigan entertainer was on stage doing his thing with Sherman in southeast MI.
Mike waited for an intermission during the show then talked to Jack. Jack wanted Mike to get the word out that he is alive and well and that rumors of his death are wrong! Having been a fan of Jack Rainwater for many years, Mike is happy to set the record straight.
Here is how the untrue rumor of his death got started ...
Jack used to own a pool store which he sold. The person who bought it died but word got around that the owner - which people mistakenly ASSUMED to be Jack - had died. As Mark Twain once said, "rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated".
