Jack Rainwater is Performing Music in Detroit Area
Michigan Musician Guitarist Singer Performer
On January 31, 2004, Madman Mike just happened to be in the right place at the right time. On stage was Sherman Arnold introducing his band - The Interstate Band - when Mike heard the name Jack Rainwater! Sure enough, this famous Michigan entertainer was on stage playing music with Sherman in Metro Detroit, Southeast Michigan.
Mike waited for an intermission during the show then talked to Jack. Jack wanted Mike to get the word out that he is alive and well and that rumors of his death are wrong! Having been a fan of Jack Rainwater for many years, Mike is happy to set the record straight.
Here is how the untrue rumor of his death - before 2004 - got started ...
Jack used to own a pool hall in Garden City which he sold. The person who bought it died but word got around that the owner - which people mistakenly ASSUMED to be Jack - had died. As Mark Twain once said, "rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated".
When you see Jack, tell him that Madman Mike Your Musical Slave continues to set the record straight.
2008 Update: the only way to contact Jack Rainwater or see him perform is to go to Sherman Arnold's shows. That's because Jack is usually playing in Sherman's band which generally performs popular oldies and tribute segments such as Elvis, Roy Orbison, etc.. 2010 Update: haven't heard anything recently. If you see Jack, drop Madman Mike a quick note about what he is currently doing. Still with Sherman?
