Detroit's Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade November 22, 2007 in Downtown Detroit. Officially it's called America's Thanksgiving Parade, one of the largest Thanksgiving Day Parades in the U.S. with award-winning floats, larger than life balloons, bands, celebrities, antique papier-maché heads. Unofficially, this day is the start of Christmas season.
Michigan Christmas Show November 29 - December 2, 2007 in Novi. "Beautifully decorated trees, doors hung with magnificent wreaths, holiday music and entertainment, arts and crafts, numerous shops. And, of course, the opportunity for young and old to have their picture taken with Santa while visiting Santa's workshop and play land."

Wayne County LightFest 2007 on Hines Drive, November 15, 2007 - January 1, 2008.
4 1/2 miles of giant animated displays and nearly a million lights along Hines Drive, it's the Midwest's largest Holiday Light Show. Drive through 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, November 16-January 1 [closed Christmas Day]. Enter at Hines Drive and Merriman, 2 1/2 miles south of I-96 in Westland. Annual Noel Night in Midtown Detroit
The evening's festivities culminate with a community sing-along on Woodward Avenue led by the Salvation Army Band. Activities include horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday shopping, family craft activities and performances by over 70 area music and dance groups.
