Bronner's Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth (east lower peninsula, north of Flint).
YEAR-ROUND attraction for all ages. "World's Largest Christmas store. Every evening Bronner's ½-mile long Christmas Lane glistens with thousands of twinkling lights. Over two million people, including 2,000 group tours, visit Bronner's attraction annually."
Wayne County LightFest on Hines Drive, just west of Detroit. 7-10pm nightly, November 14 to December 31, 2013 [Closed December 25]. Annual attraction. Visit the Midwest's longest drive-through holiday light display for four miles of colorful lights. $5 per vehicle. Display begins at Hines Drive and Merriman Road in Westland, MI.

November 23 - Dec 1, 2013 (except Thanksgiving Day) Festival of Trees – Annual event at Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, MI (west side of Detroit). Festival of Trees is a public display and sale featuring individually designed 7', 4', 3' trees, wreaths, gingerbread houses, Christmas stockings, a festive gift shop, and more. It is one of the largest annual special event fundraisers for medical research at Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation. facebook
November 24, 2013 (sun) Holiday Magic Parade – in Downtown Royal Oak (just north of Detroit), 2-3pm. Annual parade features over 80 parade units and will include marching bands, floats from the Parade Company, circus performers, dance troupes and more! Visits with Santa are after the parade.
November 28, 2013 (thu) Detroit's Thanksgiving Day Parade (America's Thanksgiving Parade) – Annual parade takes place on Woodward Ave in Downtown Detroit. One of the largest Thanksgiving Day Parades in the U.S. with award-winning floats, larger than life balloons, bands, celebrities, papier-maché heads and Santa. televised.
November 29, 2013 (fri) Grosse Pointe Santa Claus Parade – Annual parade in Downtown Grosse Pointe. starts at 10am, followed by a holiday concert by the Authentic Dickens Carolers, ending with The Village Aglow tree-lighting ceremony. more info

Join in the fun as Charles Dickens' Merry Old England comes alive. Features a Parade of Lights, Children's Parade, pictures with Santa, Victorian Carolers, Festival Singers, cookie eating contest, more.
December 4, 2013 (wed) City of Troy Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony – 7pm at Veterans Plaza in front of City Hall, 500 W. Big Beaver. Children are invited to visit with Santa Claus after he lights our Christmas tree. Plus caroling, hot cocoa and holiday sweets.
December 7, 2013 (sat) Orion Area Holiday Lighted Parade – in Lake Orion (north of Detroit). Nighttime parade, starts 6pm. "Floats and vehicles are brightly illuminated with an assortment of Christmas lights. Marching bands blare holiday music. Community groups from the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, civic organizations, dance studios, local dignitaries and school groups proudly strut down the street and wave to the crowds of onlookers. The parade is capped off by a visit by Santa in his resplendant sleigh, waving to his fans of all ages." held annually on the first saturday in December.
December 7, 2013 (sat) Annual Noel Night – in Midtown Detroit. 40th in 2012. Free, 5pm to 9:30pm in Midtown Detroit's Cultural Center Area. Over 60 institutions, including the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Science Center, and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History open their doors to the public free of charge. Activities include horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday shopping, family craft activities and performances by over 120 area music, theatre, and dance groups. The evening's festivities culminate with a community sing-along on Woodward Avenue led by the Salvation Army Band – a long-standing Noel Night tradition.
